I have a NAS connected to my wirless router but is does not show when I look at devices connected to the network. My laptop shows it as a shared drive. I trying to back up my computer files to ths NAS. Is it possible to do this wireless or do I have to connect my computer directly to it altough it it connected to the router ?

Hi Wireless or wire should not be an issue in this case. If it is a real NAS it should work via the Router provided it configured correctly on the Network. If it is External Drive, and not a real NAS, it needs to be connected directly to the computer. Best thing is to post the name and model of the NAS and how it set with the Router.
