Trying to configure new connection but get error: The wizard cannot create the connection.
Hello, I am trying to just test a problem I am having and in doing so I believe it all stems from whatever is causing the wizard to generate the error in the description field of this topic. I try in Vista to create a new connection (broadband, dialup, any type) just to test and see if vista would let me. Once I get to the final step of telling it to create the connection it immediately gives me the message: The wizard cannot create the connection. In services Telephony and all of the RPC's etc.... that are needed are started or set to manaul so I am unsure what is blocking it. I believe it is something in the registry that is blocking this process even though the services are enabled but I need help determining where the keys are at that I need to ensure are configured properly. Thanks for any help!

Hi, Do you have any third party security softwares installed on your computer? Method 1: Type services.msc in start search box, hit Enter. In Services window, make sure Remote Access Connection Manager service is started and set to automatic. Method 2: If you have any third party security software’s installed on your computer, let’s disable them temporarily and then try to create a new connection. Hope the information helps. Thank you for you reply but unfortunately as I stated in my original post, all of the necessary services such as telephony and RACM are started. I did not mention it in my first post but I am running Vista. I truly think it is something in the registry caused by group policy that is preventing any new connections other than LAN but I need to find out where so I can let the policy managers know as they do not really understand what they implement, they get a template from other personnel and just do it. Thanks again.
