Trying to Rename an Excel File
I have searched for this problem, but have not found a similar post.
I have one user who will right click an Excel file and go to rename. The user will then either click somewhere in the name or arrow over to un-highlight the file name. (Only the last few characters of the filename need to be changed.)
Before the user can replace the characters the entire file name is re-highlighted. We have changed the batteries in the mouse and keyboard, and restarted the machine. We get the same results.
Additional information:
The file is not open in any application The files reside on a network share and is accessed through a mapped drive Operating System Windows 7 Office 2007 Other users with same computer configuration are not experiencing this issue
What could be causing this?

Does the issue occur with other kind of files? If not, the issue should not be related to Windows 7. In this case I suggest you discuss in our Office forum.
