You could download MS Virtual Machine and run a copy of Win 7 on that or you could make a partition on one of your Vista machines and install Win 7 on it? then at least you would still have your original Vista install. I have Win 7 interfacing with XP, Server 2008 and Ubuntu, all seems ok and I have had no major network problems :)

Hi SujanS,The warning with W7-RC says not to run it on a productive maschine. As said you could run W7 in a virtual maschine or on a separate partition.I prefer a complete extra harddisk. You see from this forum there can be the one or other problem with your network but it's not the general experience. So far in my home network I encountered no problems.Morticah

Generally networking with Windows Vista machines doesn't seem to be a problem. IF you want to be able to go back to Windows Vista then that may be difficult, as upgrading to Windows 7 is not recommended at the moment. So a dual boot, or using a virtual machine as others have stated would be the safest ways to experiment with Windows 7 for your set up.

If I install W7RC will it affect data now resident in a separate drive on my second computer using Vista? I can 'store' my documents & picrures in my base computer - how accessable (via home network) will it be after W7RC installation?
