I keep to rule that one single antivirus program (AV) would suffice. More AVs could harm the functionality of system unless you are sure, that theyaim at different part of system (Spybot and MS Security Essentials in my case).
Older version of AV make problems, namely AVG has many issues.
Use AV removal tools and clear your system. Decide to use one AV program
and install the newest version with security updates.

When the problem persists, use Process Monitor and Process Explorer from Sysinternal(now part of MS) and do detailed analysis.

As the document referred, the AppInit_DLLs infrastructure is disabled by default. You can enable it, and then check data of AppInit_DLLs in the registry.

A passing observation. The description in the Event Viewer Report could be better. It implies something is readily available when it is not. The Online help accessible through the Report could also cover the point that has been established in this thread.

Why don't you answer the question? There is little point asking questions if you or any other person posting here just ignore what is being asked. Is it that you do not know the answer? It is no shame not know something. I do not know. That is why I am asking
the question.
Your advice on security software is not impressive. How do you work out that my AVG software is an older version?

Malwarebytes free is well known not to conflict with most other security software and does not contain a resident shield. It is a backup support scanner.

SuperAntispyware is similarly a support scanner. If you think SuperAntiSpyware might cause conflicts, in my experience it does not, then you might examine the relationship between your choice of Microsoft Security Essentials and Spybot! I
gave up on Spybot several years ago. It never found anything other than adaware.
Process Explorer and Process Monitor are both tools I have on my computer. I fully appreciate with their potential.

You might now appreciate that you are not the only person who endeavours to diagnose computer problems. I have been doing it for quite a while now.

As per Microsoft, if an application enables AppInit DLLs,
Windows logs a warning in the System Event Log. The event
log entry includes a list of the DLLs that are loaded by
using the AppInit_DLL mechanism. The AppInit_DLLs infra-
structure provides a mechanism that lets an arbitrary list
of DLLs (AppInit DLLs) be loaded into each user-mode process
on the system.

You can view this list on the Details tab in Event Viewer.
Wininit logs this warning one time for each boot session

PS: Look into boot log for clean Windows and compare your findings with boot log for system with AV program.

Beginning with Windows Vista, the AppInit_DLLs infrastructure is disabled by default. This default behavior remains unchanged in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
The behavior of the AppInit_DLLs infrastructure is configured by a set of values that are stored under the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT \CurrentVersion\Windows key in the registry. These registry values are described in Table 1.
LoadAppInit_DLLs
(REG_DWORD) Value that globally enables or disables AppInit_DLLs.

0x0 AppInit_DLLs are disabled.
0x1 AppInit_DLLs are enabled.
My Registry shows 0x0 AppInit_DLLs are disabled. Does that mean I have to change the value to 0x1 to see the Trusted Appplications List?

Anti-virus is AVG 2012 Free. I also have Malwarebytes free and SuperAntiSpyware. Using Windows Firewall.
You seem to be intending to diagnose the cause of the error and not answering my question? Where do I find this list (namely the Trusted Applications list)?

one can ASS-U-ME (you know what they say about making an assumption) from the lack of responses from anyone, even the "think way to much of themselves" type who answer questions by giving information and instructions that are (at best) very vaguely
associated with the (repeated) question because they like to hear themselves type, indicates that there isn't a set procedure in getting event viewer reports modified/improved. if it were possible somebody would have modified/improved the link at the bottom
left of every report that suggest by following "this" you can learn more about your event log event because this leads to microsoft.com when, in reality i've yet to ever see anything besides "NOTHING FOUND ON
THIS TOPIC" after following that link. i've found, as much as i hate to admit it that, google can be more of a friend than getting a concise answer from anybody from mrs gates to the newest janitor @ microsoft. sometimes the grammer you encounter
isin't on the same 3rd grade level as microsoft expert class employees/mvp's seem to be but, as soon as microsoft's legal team finally secures the rest of the third world for mrs gates (i don't believe bill is married, they are the same person) everything
will be hunky dory.
