Troubleshooting DNS 1014 events
Win7/64 Verizon Actiontec Router
I've read the other DNS posts here and they do not help with my situation.
I get this 1014 regularly "Name resolution for the name www.kollonity.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded." No interruption of service just a daily or regular warning. Here's the details:

The URL in the warning, kollonity.com is registered to Tucows.com, which I do not visit. I've run full Malwarebytes and Ad-Aware Pro scans -- the entire hard disk. No malware. So there must be some service that is trying to contact kollonity.com, but I can't
find it. My Anitvirus is Nod32 and that's not it. It's not the time service. I've read that these kinds of DNS errors are caused when you visit a page that in turn tries to connect to an IPV6 site. I turned off IPv6 and still get the error. Again, I'm trying
to find out what service is trying to make this connection. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
You may refer to the following article:
Event ID 1014 Microsoft Windows DNS Client
As this article indicates that this would be caused by spanning tree portfast settings of router, you could contact the device manufacturer for details.Alex Zhao

Thanks AZ. The Ethernet connection (the router is hard wired/wireless) has the Spanning Tree Protocol enabled but the wireless access point does not. I only use the wirless access point with a MAC portable. Ethernet is WIN7/64. I still get the error every
so often and can not figure out what I was doing when it occurred. Obviously I must be going to a page that is linked to Kollonity.com. Anyway, should I enable STP in the Wireless, even though the errors occur only on the PC, which is Ethernet.
