Trouble getting a laptop and a netbook to share files via Homegroup
Have one laptop running Windows 7 Build 7100. And a netbook also running Windows 7 Build 7100. On the laptop I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. On the netbook I am running Avira anti-virus (although this problem existed when there was no anti-virus program installed). I created a homegroup on the laptop and shared all folders. I then joined this homegroup from the netbook (and shared all folders there too). So under homegroup on either machine, I now see the other computer's name. If I click on that name it brings up the libraries- documents, music, pictures, videos. But if I click on any of them, nothing happens. If I right click, then properties it says 'the properties for this item are not available'. Something seems to be preventing the machines from sharing these files properly. I have tried looking in Kaspersky but can't see what might be 'untrusted' that I should mark 'trusted'. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Homegroup was the main reason I installed Windows 7 on the netbook!

I have to apologize up front. I do not remember where exactly the settings are for this issue. I think I had found them within the network connection under advanced or something of the sort. Your file sharing is still not set to allow I believe.

Try choosing specific ppl and type in a name or you could used the down arrow to add a name follow by hitting add and share. Prior to doing the above i suggest you to unistall the Kaspersky Internet Security for the time being
