Trouble connecting to wireless due to Unidentified Network on brand new Windows 7.
I have a brand new Compaq running Windows 7 and I have encountered a problem with my wireless today. The wireless has been working for the past few days, but today when I tried to connect on campus it would not let me, I noticed that I can not get "Unidentified network - No Internet Access" to go away from my connections. I tired again to connect at home and it will connect for a short time and then knock me off. Any ideas on what the problem is? I've racked my brain for the past couple of hours and read through numerous threads but I am at a lost. Any help would be appreciated. =)

Hi, Have any new programs or hardware installed on the machine? Is there an exclamation mark or question mark in Device Manager? Here are some suggestions you can try: 1. Temporarily disable firewall on the machine. 2. Upgrade the Wireless network adapter on the machine. 3. Disconnect the original Wireless network and reconnect it again. When trying to connect the network, please assure the SSID and passphrase is the same for the router config page. 4. Configure the network connection to obtain an IP address and DNS address automatically If the issue persists, please bypass the router or switcher and connect to DSL Modem directly via wired cable for a test. What's the result? Thanks, Novak
