Hey Rob,This issue of yours sound more like a device driver issue. Have you tried contacting Asus for assistance? Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org

I'm also having trouble when connecting with my Atheros WLAN (the machine is a MacBook Pro) to WPA2 networks, specifically WPA2 networks from an Apple TimeCapsule access point. Sometimes, the connection is set up properly. Other times, the icon in the notification area says I have limited connectivity. However, ipconfig /all shows no apparent problems (IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, netmasks, default gateways, etc. are correct).

see my reply in the other thread where you posted the same information. this is not good advice. You are also replying to a thread that is a year old. 1. update the Dell driver to the latest available from the Dell site 2. go into the Dell utility and check the box "use Windows to manage wireless..." 3. use WPA2-AES On Tue, 4 Jan 2011 22:25:33 +0000, Woodzy42 wrote: > > >I want to share what I have done in order resolve "dell inspiron windows 7 cannot connect to wpa network" > >My router has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup option - I disabled the the option and now my dell inspiron 15xx laptop with a dell 1397 > >wireless half card and windows now connects just fine to my WPA encrypted network.
