Trojan files in registry are affecting my computer's performance
Original title: Files in RegistryI recently found three trojans on my computer: Trojan.Maljava; 1gmyws.sys (Hacktool.Rootkit); and gr1.exe (Trojan.FakeAV!gen29). While the trojans are "gone", they did leave behind some residual files that are affecting my computer's performance. What i need to know: In scanning my registry, does XP sp3 have files in the registry win%dir? I think those files need to be deleted, but i'm not sure. Any help you can provide would be great!

Hi, Important: We recommend not making unnecessary changes in the registry. If you modify the registry incorrectly, then it can lead to serious issues and system might go to no boot. However you may try running an online scan and check if it helps:Refer the link:http://safety.live.com Hope this information is helpful.Praseetha KMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think. If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. I cannot open IE. I usually use firefox as my browser, so i tried downloading the IEMap. I was told that it would not work with my version of firefox (3.6.13). So i closed firefox, and signed into aol. I was able to access the scan, but it would not run citing error 01 x 04601C01. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
