Trojan Horse Generic13.BJN, unable to update AVG and Windows Defender, DHCP client not working = no internet
One morning my computer froze when in normal mode, so I stopped some startup programs from running (by going into safe mode). However, my security centre shows internet firewall as turned off (even after turning it on, it turns itself off after restarting). It also reveals windows defender and AVG Anti-Virus Free are both out of date, but when I try to update them it cannot be completed. Also when online, when following a link from google it opens in a new semi-sized window and doesn't go to the correct site. On the second attempt it does go to the correct site.Eventually, AVG (resident shield) found 'Trojan horse Generic13.BJN'. I have tried moving to the vault and then deleting but they keep getting detected when restarting.Furthermore, after this, the dhcp client stops working as soon as i log on and then a message appears 'Microsoft Windows - Host Process for windows services stopped working and was closed'. This has resulted in the internet not working, and a local connection is only found (I use a BTHomeHub wireless - all other comps in the network are fine). For a short time, I could use the internet by going into safe mode with networking but now even this has stopped working.Help much appreciated

Hi, Thank you for your post. Regarding this issue, I would like to provide the following suggestions: 1.From this issue, I would like to suggest that you contact AVG support to see if they have special update or tools to complete remove this virus, and check if there are other viruses. 2.Actually, since the system is infected, the recommended method is still to format and re-install the compromised computer from a known good build (i.e. operating system CD + all security patches while disconnected from the network). Note: if you want to reinstall the system, please backup you files and data and ensure that the installation packages or CDs of the software are available.
