Transponder scanning in Windows 7 Media Center
Hi Pros. I got a Question for you guys. I have a Windows7 x64, and a TV Tuner called "Elgato DVBS/S2 EyeTV Sat". In Media Center it's PERFECT. Just setup sattelite on any satellite you want (Mine is set on Eutelsat W3) and without scanning, watch channels in a very good quality. There is no problem in channel guides or recording at all. Only one problem: There are some new transponder which are not included in MCE, so I go to menu for scanning Transponders. I enter informations, Frequency, Symbol Rate and Polarization. Signal bars reaches to full green colors meaning signal strenghts and quallity is good. I click scan and when it finishs, MCE shows no channel were found. I use Other free applications such as ProgDVB. it scans and channels will be listed without any problem. Where do you guys think the problem is? Thanks in advance

Yes I am using coax cable and I have another normal receiver connecting to my TV in the other room. My LNB is dual output, so one cable is connected to TV set and the other is connected to My EyeTV Sat. I have Mac and PC. Both has perfect picture quality. Only in Windows7 Media Center, I cannot get channels by manual transponder scan.

Did you try telling de Mediacenter that you have multiple satellites and try to assign the 1 satellite to one of the other 3 positions? (you can just not assign the rest of the positions)

The problem lies within the transponder lists 7MCE uses in oder to scan each transponder. For example about a month ago BBC moved BBC One HD to another transponder, which had not been used for HD before. A manual transponder scan using the correct settings does not list any channels. Without being able to set the transponder's modulation, 7MCE is not able to recognize the respective channels. In this case this has to be "NBC-QPSK". It is a shame this option is not available and there is no way watching those channels until MS decides to update the transponder list...
