Hi,Can you read the USB disk? If yes, try creating a new folder and tell us if it works. Victor Constantinescu - MVP Security, MCTS

Hi,So I'm guessing you are getting the error when you try to transfer the files into folders already created on the USB hardisk? You can go to start > type in the quick search "command" > right click on "command prompt" and press Run as administrator > At the command prompt, type in takeown /F Driveletter:\Folder /R Victor Constantinescu - MVP Security, MCTS

Thanks for ur fast reply. I am trying to transfer when I donwload an article from C: to J:. I tried doing what you suggested:system32>takeown/J:\data/r (where as the drive is J: the folder is data and I gather "r" is for reading? It did not work. Can u use rw for read/write?Appreicate your response.

Hi,Make sure you get the command right. It has an /F flag at the beginning and /R at the end.So you need: takeown /F j:\data /R Remember to put in the spaces also. Victor Constantinescu - MVP Security, MCTS
