Touchpad Vertical Scrolling

Hello everyone

i have a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j099ef and i am having issues with vertical scrolling of my touchpad. It enables and disables itself whenever it wants. Driver is up to date. Rebooting only fixes this temporarily because it happens again over and over.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

ps : Operating Windows 8.1

You may uninstall and reinstall the touchpad driver to check the problem.

See if the settings are optimum:

You may also create another User account and recheck the problem.

Is this issue resolved?

Hello madris111,

Please check if there are yellow exclamation in the device manager.

Please contact the manufacturer to check if this is the hardware issue.

Please use the clean boot to eliminate the software conflicts.

Hello M.CHEN

Sorry for not replying for such a long time. There is no exclamation mark in the device manager. I have observed that this issue occurs when i install a software or when i extract large rar archives or even when i use any program of the office pack.

My pc runs on windows 8.1 / 16 GB of Ram / Intel i7 4700 MQ / 1 TB HDD / Nvidia GeForce GT 740M so i really have no clue why this happens. The operating system is up to date, i have Bitdefender Antivirus, Malwarebytes, i use CCleaner, HDD is fragmented weekly.

I have also observed a noticeable slow down of my pc in the last 3-4 weeks despite of how fast it is supposed to be. I've had a pc running on 8 GB of Ram and i5 3210m and i can't tell if there is any difference between my two pc.

Do you have any suggestions please?

Kind regards

Madris
