Took hard drive from Windows XP computer, can't transfer or write files without permissions.
I took the hard drive out of a computer that I was using and put it into a new computer with Win7. Every time I try to do anything, either reading or writing, it always ask for permissions. I need a way to make this stop and make myself have full access as admin to everything about my system and my files. It feels like MS thought I would be too stupid to mess with my own stuff and break it with these stupid rules. I need a way to get rid of this.

I think I may have stumbled upon it. Right clicked the drive, selected Properties, clicked Security tab, clicked edit, went to Users and Admins, clicked Full Control, and now it's applying it to all the files. Hope this works. Edit: It works.
