Too many .vbt files under temp folder
Hi, we are seeing too many .vbt extension files under windows\temp folder in all our Exchange 2010 CAS-HUB server which is also having Forefront for Exchange installed. Though searching about this file extension on net, not getting much information. Anybody has any idea about it and whether safe to remove and how to remove (any specific method other than just delete) and anywhere any configuration can take care of it. Please do let us know. - Rgds, Guru.

Hi,

Based on my research, VBT file is usually generated by third-party antivirus software. Do you have installed any client security software like FEP, SCEP2012.

There is a similar thread for your reference.

Hi Quan, I have seen that thread too, but my interest is I need to take care that it will not start accumulate again and there should be some configuration mismatch for this issue.

Yes, we have Symantec Endpoint also running along with Microsoft Forefront for Exchange. And I do doubt Forefront only for these .vbt files since elsewhere wherever we have SEP running we don't have this issue.
