Timeout when downloading files from an ftp site using Windows Explorer.
Using Windows Explorer, I'm able to successfully connect to ftp sites. However, when I use the "Copy to Folder" option for anything larger than about 5MB, the copy process begins, then stops partway through and about a minute later pops up the error message "An error occurred copying the selected items from the FTP server; Details: the operation timed out". This issue appears limited to my new Windows 7 Professional system. I'm able to use other computers in our organization to download the exact same files successfully from the ftp site, including Windows XP systems, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 R2. I've tried resetting IE8, logging in to a new user profile, but the problem remains. Using the Command Prompt ftp command is also rarely successful. The problem seems limited to one ftp site. Any suggestions on resolving this isolated issue? Thanks!

The resolution to this issue was to disable "Receive Window Auto-Tuning" using the following command in a Command Prompt run as Administrator: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
