Time & date settings in XP are not kept up correctly by the computer
The Control panel "time & date" settings in XP are not kept up correctly by the computer, even I have adjusted them several times during the day, even with the PC running. Same happened to the current switch to DST., it did not switch. Could it be that I have to change the batteries , which was recommended by a "wizard". What type of batteries are needed ? Pls. help. Thanks. Christoph 1 person needs an answerI do too

If the time doesn't keep when the computer is off and unplugged, you need to change the CMOS battery on the motherboard. This is an easy and cheap (~$5.00) fix. I would start there. If this doesn't solve the issue, the motherboard is probably starting to fail. How old is the computer?
