Which file are you trying to open?? You probably dont have any problem to open such files. Say for example if you need to open .doc files you need MS Word, to open pdf files you need adobe reader. Search on the internet for the type of file and download the necessary program for it.ThanksDineshPlease vote if my answer is helpful. Thanks

Dinesh,>if you need to open .doc files you need MS Word,Correct, I can edit just by opening or choosing Edit.>to open pdf files you need adobe reader.Right click pdf files, there is no option to edit.JPG files, I use to right click > Edit to enter page number, etc.. Yesterday I began receiving "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control." How do I correct the problem?Robert

HiGo to run and type this command regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll. This will allow all the progams to reset their file association. Let me know if that helped.ThanksDineshPlease vote if my answer is helpful. Thanks

Discovered problem when attempting to edit JPG files. 1. Open Add and Remove Programs2. Double Click Add/Remove Windows Components3. In Windows Components Wizard Double Click Accessories and Utilities4. Double Click Accessories5. Check box at Paint Robert

Open any windows folder. Go to tools->folder options->File types and see what are file associations for JPG files. If nothing is present. try uninstall and reinstall of mspaint.Uninstall and reinstall MS Paint in Windows XPYou require the Windows XP CD-ROM to reinstall the Windows components such as PaintClick Start, Run and type control appwiz.cpl,,2(or, use Add/Remove Programs applet, Add/Remove Windows Components) Double-click Accessories and Utilities Double-click Accessories Uncheck Paint and click OK, OK.
