This copy of Windows is not genuine Build 7601 Windows 7
I have looked at the other solutions to this type of problem but this is different in the sense that I have used the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool (1.9.0027.0) which I found here on the forum. The tool has validated the copy but I continue
to get the message <Optional update delivery is not working> You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. I am confused as to what to do next. The background went black but the icons are all there and I'm able to go online, obviously. Below is the
message I received from the tool.
Please help this is preventing me from downloading and using any of the Microsoft office tools. Thank you in advance.

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
type in the Search box
CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
Select Run as Administrator
- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked,
and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The chkdsk will take a few hours depending on the size
of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally
(possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC
SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on the Start button
type in the Search box
CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
Select Run as Administrator - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.
Post an MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered.

Hi,
I suggest you can also try the following:
1. Check whether the key and version of Windows 7 match the COA tag at the bottom of the computer.
You may refer to the following link to find COA.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Software.aspx#Packaging
If the keys are different, you can try the following steps to change it.
1) Right-click on the Computer desktop shortcut and go to Properties.
2) At the bottom of the window, click on Change Product key.
3) Enter your product key in the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and press Enter.
2. Boot into Clean Boot Mode and test the issue again.
Hope this helps.

With all respect to Leo and Vincent - on what planet is that supposed to be an Answer to the user's problem?
The user has a premissions problem on at least one file critical to the SPPSVC processes - and you suggest that changing the Key is an answer?. Have you ever tried doing it under such circumstances?
