This copy of Windows is not genuine - Windows 7 Enterprise
I have 3 computers (1 laptop) that are receiving the "This copy of Windows is not genuine" wallpaper along with the enter you activation key on login. We are using a KMS server for authentication,
and each one of these affected machines checked in successfully to the KMS server last Friday (once a week authentication for Windows, daily for Office). I have tried everything short of a re-image (which I am attempting to avoid) to get these systems to
check in again. The Software Protection service is set to Automatic (Delayed Startup) and does stop and restart without an error. I ran ipconfig /release /renew /flushdns, gpupdate /force, logged in with admin ID and entered the activation key, but on reboot
get the same messages again. Any help in a successful resolution of this would be greatly appreciated (one that does not hopefully involve a re-image).

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop -
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Hi,
Is there any error message or code received when you try to active the system? Also, please open an elevated CMD prompt, run slmgr /dlv to check the output.
Meanwhile, I suggest you run the MGADiag tool to get a Diagnostic Report for us to analyse this issue:
1. Download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
2. Once saved, run the tool.
3. Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
4. To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
Hope this helps.

The problem is that Windows cannot find the Product Key in the Licensing Store.
This could be the result of malware, or file corruption.
please first try this....
Recreate the Licensing Store
1) Click Start button.
2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
4) Type:
net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
5) Type: cd
%windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
8) Type: net start sppsvc
9) Type: slui.exe
10) After a couple of seconds Windows
Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter
your product key or Activation may occur automatically.
You may have to use telephone activation.
Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report

No spyware as that is the first thing I scanned for. I was prompted to enter the activation key, but we use a KMS server for authentication, so the product key is different for a KMS
server then for normal Windows activation, and I get prompted that the last character is invalid. If I ignore this message and continue with activation, I am then told the key is for a KMS server and is
invalid for this form of activation. Any other ideas?
