This computer can't connect to the remote computer
hi all please i need help i have windows xp sp3 tried to connect to my friends computer in other country but always im getting this error "This computer can't connect to the remote computer" once i connect to windows server 2003 and it worked it asked me for the username and the password also i read from the net if i want to know the remote desktop ip i can get it when i type ipconfig on the remote desktop in cmd and other said to go to ipchicken.com it will give me my ip i do both comparing to each other it is not the same so which one to choose also im using wirless connection please any avaliable help i would be greatfull also im new to this so excuse me :D

You cannot connect via Remote Desktop if the other computer is not in your domain or site. Because you only know the private IP of that computer. To access the computer you need to connect to its public IP. Whether the computer has a public IP depends on the policy of the ISP of the computer. If the remote computer is in domain you can try to access the domain with VPN and then connect with Remote Desktop. You need to contact the domain administrator.
