This application has to use a cryptographic key

Hello,

I got a call from a user that got the following warning:

It seems that Windows requires a certain password/cryptographic key to unlock 'something' (what it unlocks, is not known to me).

Is it a cause of a program running in the background or are there other causes that contributed to this pop up screen?

Thanks in regard!

Hi,

I'm sorry for couldn't understand the language in this screenshot. But it seems like Windows UAC prompt. Generally speaking, it means current application need to execute with Administrator permission. Under this situation, if current user is standard account, it would be promoted to provide administrator account authorize.

If I misunderstand what's your meaning, please feel free let me know.

Hello,

It basically requests the user to use a cryptographic key c.q. password to access a program or resource (atleast, that's what I think).

The problem is that I am not sure if the cryptographic key is what the user needs to type there and what might be the cause of that problem.

I did have another user come to me and ask what it was all about but the UAC window did disappear after a while.

So I am kinda lost as in I am unable to identify the culprit....

Note: the language in the screenshot is Dutch, I forgot to put a proper translation in there.

Hi,

The password should be correspond with wachtwoord, is it a user account on this system? If not, in my opinion, it would be better to contact the administrator or the application developer for further assistance.
