There is strange thing happening trying to create a backup just on an other partition of my HD.
I installed Windows7 RC on several PCs, at an other PC backup works perfect with a second HD , but now this quadcore-thing seems to fall crazy. There is about 225GB space for the backup free on partition H, the backup would need only about 90MB - and it says there is not enough room in here for a backup-but-it is on the same HD to be located just on a well defined partition. On the same Drive, there is a XP partition with about 148GB , there is a Windows7 partition with 222GB and the free Partition with 225GB should take now the backup in its home but even the rescue DVD is not about to be burnt . My question : will win7 RC try to backup all both partitions?

Der,How much free space is on each drive? Windows backup requires quite a bit of space on the drive (The Windows 7 partition) for a temp file. Also, are you doing a backup or an Image?

Hi!first of all thanx for the reply! What I think is that Windows7 trieds always to make a (Computer-) Backup of all the partitions on the HD (There is one 148GB XP partition on 225GB Win7 partition and one 228GB which is free). I simply wanted to backup my Win7 partition which has 225GB, included an image, yes!Thefree space on the third partition is 228GB but, as you said there is more space needed for temporary files. Its the PC of my son, so I will give him another HD to get backed up his whole stuff! >In the origin I was simply puzzled by the statement of the program that there is not enough space for the backup and the backup size would be 89MB!I will excercise all the variations of Backup and Image with this device!Thanx a lotand aligator
