I have a user at a remote office with a new Windows 7 laptop that has been working perfectly up until today. He went to logon to the laptop and recieved "There are Currently No Logon Servers Available" message. i did a remote session with the
user and was able to logon with both my domain credentials and local admin account. i even intiated a vpn session to the network and browsed the network with no issues. any ideas as to what might have happened? thanks.

Hi,
To troubleshoot the issue, please try the following steps.
1. Temporarily remove all the security software (firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc.) on the Windows 7 machine and check if it works.
2. Regarding the error message received, please refer to the following Knowledge Base and try the solution in it:
Error message when you try to log on to a Windows Server 2008-based RODC: "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request"

Hope this helps. Thanks.

If you remoted to the users machine and was able to logon, it sounds like the issue has been resolved or not present at the time. Since this is a mobile device, I would tend to beleive that the user was not on the network at the time either wired or
wireless, or if the user was on the network, there was a problem with network connectivity not allowing that computer to locate or communicate with DNS and/or the DCs for that domain.
You should monitor the situation and watch for reocurrences. When this happens again, scope the problem...that is figure out if this is a problem with one computer or a network segment. Peform some basic troubleshooting. Can the user log
on with a local account? Using PING and NSLOOKUP to help you determine if this a a network issue, name resolution problem, etc...
