The remote computer requires network level authentication...
Since some screwup I reverted using system restore on my vista ultimate 64. Since then I cannot connect from a windows 7 ultimate 64 machine to remote desktop of the vista machine. Anybody any clue? I searched the internet for this error and found only solutions for connecting from XP machines, which does not apply to me. Accessing shares exported by the vista machine still works. BTW -- who implemented this useless editor here (senseless distance between lines)? Again -- newsgroups was not cool enough?

I gave up on this and reinstalled the OS. Too screwed up by maybe VMware or some malware. The machine was clear of viruses or malware as far as I know (run Microsofts offline antivirus tool multiple times and had Microsoft Security essentials installed). How about being able to clearly uninstall any software, even if the software does not do this by itself? E.g. it should be possible, that any installation software must first answer, what it wants to do in the registry and in the windows installation directory before being able to do so. Then it would be very easy to undo this. Please people@microsoft -- think! Kind Regards Peter Foelsche PS. I appreciate EMET, your DLL philosophy and being able to lock files and structured exception handling and .... I don't appreciate that CreateProcess randomly inherits file descriptors.
