The network connection is lost on a Windows XP Hyper-V virtual machine

On Windows 8 64 Bit I am running a Hyper V Windows XP Virtual machine

When working on this virtual machine I constantly loose my network connection. After clicking on the repair network connection in IE it works for some minutes then fails again.

I saw and downloaded a hotfix (KB2223005) but this cannot be installed in Windows 8 because of some certificate error.

For a test, disable the "TCP/UDP Offload Checksum" on the physical NIC. More cases can be found this post:

I had the same issue, and my physical wireless NIC didn't have TCP Offload as an option!

Disabling the TOE on the HyperV switch didn't help either.

My solution was to remove the enlightened Network adapter and add a Legacy Network Adapter.  XP saw it fine, and no more disconnects!
