The mouse pointer is not color managed. Even in Windows 8.1. Who thought this was a good idea? [EOM]

Hi AeronSophus,

The main issue is to custom the mouse pointer, right ?

We can custom the mouse pointer here.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Mouse then choose "Pointers" tab.
We also can try to download different mouse cursors from the Internet and configure it as we like.

Hello,

No, this is NOT the issue and this is NOT the solution. This does NOT solve the issue of the ICC color profile not applied to the pointer although it should be applied to it.

This might be a half-decent workaround in a static viewing environment like a color proofing booth when doing print work, but even there it would require you to design your own custom pointers for the entire viewing environment.

It's not a solution when working with multiple viewing environments on the same machine (e.g. when you carry a laptop and have various profiles configured for your working environments, at home, at work, in a co-working space, etc.), you'd have to design hundreds of pointers.

And then it's even worse if you are suffering from any of a multitude of melatonin-related sleep disorders, like delayed sleep phase disorder, Non-24h Sleep-Wake Disorder or advanced sleep phase disorder and use software like e.g. f.lux that shifts the color temperature of the configured ICC profile dynamically every second as part of your treatment. One would have to programmatically design thousands of pointers and then write an application shift those every second. NOT a workable solution for anyone.

Hi AeronSophus,

This is the only configuration I can figure out to manage the mouse pointers.
As far as I know, the mouse pointer will be changed automatically in some programs especially when we played a full screen game. So this behavior may be supported by specific API and the Windows system only support the basic configurations at present. Different people have different needs, it is a little hard to meet all the needs.
Demand is the motivation of the development and we are concentrated on making the Windows system better and better. The Windows 10 will be released on July 29. If there are so many people expecting this configuration, we could try to submit a feedback about this configuration. But a new feature should be multifaceted evaluation before it is actually added into the system.
