The internet connection sharing(ICS) service on Local Computer started and then stopped.
Hi, I have Win7 x64 with SP1 installed and joined to my company's domain. I've been facing this problem for a long time now. When I try opening the ICS service, it tells me that The Internet Connection Sharing(ICS) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Does anyone see what's wrong? or how to troubleshoot this?

You probably did not configure ICS. You don't need to start this service in services.msc. It is started automatically when you configure it. To configure ICS go to Network and sharing center, then click 'change adapter settings'. Open properties of adapter whose connection you want to share. Click 'Sharing' tab, then click 'Allow other network users to connect ...'

"Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs" this reported the reason is that no application or service use ics service, so it automatically stopped. According to your advice that we got a program or service to use it. Your are great, Les52!
