Original title: mobile broadband service locks up start menu After installing mobile broadband software, my computer started to lock up after I logged off the Internet. The mouse pointer moves and the Start menu opens, but the computer does not respond. I have to use the power button to turn off and restart my computer.My computer also locks up when I return to Windows after the computer has been in stand-by mode.I have uninstalled mobile broadband software and gone back to using my dial-up connection, but the problem continues. I tried System Restore, but it tells me there have not been any changes to my system. I went back to a point 2 weeks prior to installing the mobile broadband software. If I don't go on the Internet or put the computer in stand-by mode, the computer works fine.Do I need to reinstall Windows XP to solve the poblem? Thanks

I was not able to resolve the problem.I could not access the Internet or put the computer on stand-by while in safe mode. Stand-by was not an option when I went to shut down the computer and my Internet provider's software was not available.The problem persisted in clean boot.
