The backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed(0x80080005)
When I try to "Set up backup" under "Backup and Restore" I get an error "The backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed(0x80080005)". I am running windows 7 home premium on a CyberPower PC. I have tried the "answers" in other posts but still get the same error, including disabling all services and startup items first. I do not have any virus software running other than MS securities essential. Please help as this is frustrating me and wasting considerable time.

Any suggestions folks ... I would really like to get Microsoft's backup to work rather than using a 3rd party application.hyacinth

Zhen Tan thanks for your suggestions. I just got a new HP Windows 7 machine. My backup was working fine but now it is not due to the 0x80080005 error. I tried what you suggested above. There were permission issues and I was able to change the owner and permissions for most of the files/folders in "System Volume Information". However, I have 11 hidden files in my "System Volume Information" folder that I can not take ownership of or change permissions on. Everytime I try I get an error access denied. My user account is setup as an administrator so that should not be a limitation. Any suggestions?

Followed all instrucitons. Using Gateway SX2311-03. Win 7 Home Premium. This fix did NOT work. Now do I change all my permissions back. No mention of that if there is a failure.
