The Group Policy client Failed at logon on windows 7 home edition
Hi, I can't access my personal computer because The Group Policy Service (GPS) fails to log on. I think my NTuser.* files are corrupted because I almost deleted them but manage to cancel the process. I accessed my desktop using Safe mode, created a new administrator account and try to log-on with the new account ( windows 7 crash!) but received the same GPS message with access denied. I tried to use a restore point but the wizard for system restore is not working!I read over the Internet that I can restore system via the cmd but I doubt the problem will the resolve. Is there anything I can do to create a new clean user? or fix my user NTuser.* files set up? Can I re-install windows 7 without loosing my data? Thanks for help

Hi thanks for the link; however things look pretty outdated there... mostly deal with Vista and many post for Servers. I'm using a windows 7 home edition on a Laptop. There is one post I try though but things are still not working. In the meantime from safe mode I manage to activate the guest account and can access my desktop from that account but my programs are not working properly there and windows 7 crashes every 20 min or so. Some driver like for the Internet are just not working! Can I, say, just delete those files and copy new one some where??? Maybe MS offers clean one? Thnaks

Did you try the repair installation from the Windows 7 DVD? Also, what files are you referring to in the above post? You may need to backup your data and do a clean install.Jason Rule MCP, MCSA, MCTS

I realised that I was conused with the MS software I bought. The computer came with windows 7 installed. I only bought the Office suite. So I don't have W7 to do a clean install. thanks

If you have your Win 7 License Key you can download the Win 7 .iso and burn it to DVD: http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.htmlJason Rule MCP, MCSA, MCTS
