The Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported

Hi guys,

we created a custom WIM Image (Windows 8 Enterprise) with MDT 2012.

Sysprept the Image, Deployed via SCCM 2012 SP1.

Computers are Domainjoined. Error with standard Domain User.

On some computers (not every computer) and not with every user on the first logon following error message arises:

The Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported

It works, when you log in a second time but this error isn't very nice.

Is there a solution for that?

Kind Regards

Martin

Hi,

The service is responsible for applying settings configured by administrators for the computer and users through the Group Policy component. This issue can be caused by various reasons based on the computer environment.

Can you find any information in event log about this issue?

Here is the related blog in which the steps can solve most of such issues if the issue continuously happen.

i'm currently experience the exact same scenario in a large deployment project.  Config Manager 2012, Windows 8 Enterprise, same error message sporadically only on the first logon.  I'm also curious to know if anyone who has encountered this has a solution.  Everything works fine after ignoring the message and all group policies have applied correctly.

I have noticed the same error. I am deploying Windows 8.1 Enterprise using ConfigMgr 2012 R2 PXE installation and I have also tried with the original WIM file from Windows 8.1 DVD. SCCM Task Sequence also joins the computer to the domain.

The error appears during the first logon after operating system deployment, and never again on the same computer.

I have the exact same error, it seems to be very random. Anyone got a solution yet ??

I've been seeing the same issue. ConfigMgr 2012 R2 + Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 deployment. Really odd ...

Hi,

I am not sure if it helps you guys or not, but please try to update the existing Windows 8 /Windows 8.1 OS and then try. This error commonly encountered in RTM release of Win 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation.

We're having the same issues, had installed the latest updates prior to capturing the image.

Looks to us like it's caused by SCEP, does not occur if we haven't deployed this.
