The Conferencing Service did not respond. Please wait and try again. Lync 2010 Error

Good afternoon, I'm hoping that you can help me.

We've got a Lync 2010 pool for internal use only without an edge server. It's been working fine for about a year, and conferencing used to work fine. We're not sure what's changed besides re-issuing the Lync certificate about 3-4 months ago. All services are running correctly, the certificates are all correctly published and trusted however, when trying to start a conference with more than one other user the following error appears on the client:

"The conference service did not respond. Please wait and try again".

As part of troubleshooting this issue, I've re-issued the certificate to the server and checked that is it being used for all purposes in IIS and is bound to the correct ports etc. within the IIS management console.

I've enabled client logging and get the following errors in the UCCP Log:

However, after trawling the internet this seems to be almost unrelated to the current issues I'm experiencing.

I'm lost as to where to go next and would appreciate a hand.

HI

There is an error which show " ms-diagnostics:  3098;reason="No MCU Factory Available";source=">Lync " Usually this causes due to two things first, may be your MCU is broken or You IIS have some issue.

Two Suggestion:

would Re-Run the second Lync deployment step " configure & installation" May be some broken files in ISS can be reparired.

Second would do the below mentioned Step:

Go to the Certification path tab and select the top cert in the tree and select View Certificate. Then go to the Details tab, select Edit properties and select the radio button for Enable for all purposes.

One more things would you delete the CErts from IIS and reconfigure it.

Hope that works.

Hi Zahoor,

Thanks for the reply, I've done a bit of fiddling since I've posted this. In regards to your suggestions;

Suggestion 1) I've run the second step of Lync Deployment a few times now and have even removed the Conferencing features from my topology, published it, re-ran the installation and then re-installed both components and it comes up with an identical error.

Suggestion 2) Unfortunately I've already checked the Enabled for all purposes radio button and have tried re-issuing a brand new certificate from our CA with a different name to the same effect.

When you mention reconfiguring IIS with new certificates, is there anything else I should be doing besides setting the SSL certificate in the binding of the internal web address?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave,

What's the error event on the FE server ?

In addition, if you have a load balancer, try to bypass it.

Best regards,

Eric
