The 32-bit replica of msiprov.dll is not provided with Win 7 64 bit OS and Windows Vista 64 bit OS
Hi,I have just started to get my hands dirty in Windows development.I have a question ,rather it is more of a doubt.I have a 32 bit application that uses a few of the WMI classes like Win32_PublishComponentAction,etc. My 32 bit app is trying to dynamically load and use the WMI provider ,msiprov.dll ,to access these classes and a few of its exported functions .Since it is a 32-bit application it is trying to search for this DLL in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\wbem . What I noticed is the 32 bit versions of these DLLs are unavailable in the Win 7 64-bit OS and Win Vista 64-bit OS.Though the 64bit version of this DLL is available in C:\Windows\System32\wbem folder. So ,I hope you see the problem. My question is ,are there any service packs Windows has delivered that provides these Dlls to its customers ?

Hi , I am afraid there is no such official Service Pack. As this issue is related in Development environment, in order to get the answer effectively, it is recommended to post a new question in the MSDN forum for further discussion. The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.
