Temporary Profile message for domain user
Greetings, Have user without a roaming profile but with a mapped drive to account that gets the message she has been logged in with a Temporary Profile on Windows 7 64-bit client. Others on same machine not having the trouble. Looked in Registry, Profile list, for the "...bak" profile. Did not find one. User is able to use the network and get their files of the mapped drive. Any ideas? Just re-create the user's account perhaps? Thanks, StreetHockeyFan

Hi, You can let the user log on other compute to check the result. The temp profile is mostly caused by permission issue. Please make sure you are the owner of the C:\Users\Yourname\NTUSER.dat. Also, please put NTUSER.dat in the security software exclusion list for testing.Niki Han TechNet Community Support

Thanks Niki but the user has tried other computers and same result. It never gets to the point where it can create a folder for the user in C:\Users so NTUSER.dat is a moot point. Any other ideas? Thanks, StreetHockeyFan

Check the security on "C:\Users\Default" profile Users and Everyone need to have at least "Read and Execute" Make sure that the user is not member of any "deny" groups. Maybe add the user to the Local Administrators group temporarily to elevate him to Local Admin.

Thanks Niki and Brano. I already did what Niki suggested as I found no other answers on the entire WWW, and it worked. Not the most elegant solution but it works. StreetHockeyFan
