Telnet Port
Hi I am using Win 7 Prox64. I enabled telnet client and server. I am able to connect on the default port 23. In windows firewall I added port 4001 but I am unable to telnet to this port. I am unable to connect even if I disable the firewall. If I use the cmd - tlntadmn config port=4001 I get an error - Invalid Value. Specify a positive number less than 1024 for Port Option. If I set it to 1001 I am able to telnet to that port. Please let me know how I can set it to 4001. Thank you.

From the Microsoft documentation: port= IntegerValue Sets the Telnet port. You must specify the port with an integer smaller than 1,024. One possibility you could consider, if you're setting up a system behind a router with port mapping capabilities... Set up port mapping on the router so that incoming connections to port 4001 map to an actual port number less than 1024. -Noel
