Taskbar
I really enjoy using Windows 7, as compared to Vista. So far, after initial problems with networking, everything seems to be working fine.Suggestion: reduce the size of the buttons on the taskbar and provide a launch bar as in XP. Mixing the icons for launch and the boxes for running programs is very confusing.Comment: I'm not sure I like the Show Desktop button on the right of the taskbar. Maybe I'm just used to having the icon on the launch bar, but it seems a little awkward.

To get smaller icons, right click on the task bar and go into "properties" the click on the "use small icons". At first I thought that the larger icons were a little to big, but I have grown accuston to them, and like them alot. The small icons are too small for me. I'm getting old and my eyes must be getting bad.

djwayne - Thanks. I changed to small icons and I'm happier now. I still think that there should be a separation between buttons for running programs and the icons for launching.

You're welcome. Programs that are running, have a box outline on them, so you can see which programs are open. Mutiple instances of a program will put a double box around the icon.

Yes, but the box outline is so faint that it is almost un-noticeable, especially if the labels are hidden. When working in a window, then trying to start another program, having to hunt for the launch icon causes a momentary hesitation that destroys concentration. It seems to me that it would make work flow better if the launch icons were separated from the running icons.
