Task scheduler error
I have a problem with task scheduler. I've narrowed it down to the following tasks: AD RMS Rights Policy Template Management (Manual) SystemSoundsService WindowsParentalControls WindowsParentalControlsMigration Windows Backup Monitor The error thrown up is 'The selected task "{0}" no longer exsists. To see the current tasks, click Refresh' Once I moved these tasks fromC:\Windows\System32\Tasks everything works ok, are these of any importance or can I just delete them?

Check to see if Windows Event Log Service is still working properly in all sections. The Task Scheduler is dependant on the Windows Event Log Service. If the WEL is disfuntional in anyway then it could effect the Task Sheduler as well. Everything appears to be working ok with Event Log, just been through event viewer and there was 12 errors associated to Task Scheduler over the last 2 weeks, the event id is 413, and gives this description 'Task Scheduler Service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183' Scheduled tasks are running as normal, but as soon as I move one of the offending tasks back to the correct folder it stops working again.

You may also check Registry. All the tasks are stored in the following branch. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks Check if the following tasks related branches are all present. AD RMS Rights Policy Template Management (Manual)SystemSoundsServiceWindowsParentalControlsWindowsParentalControlsMigrationWindows Backup Monitor Additionally, check if the tasks are present in the task tree. Please check in the following branch. The structure is the same as it in the folder C:\Windows\System32\Tasks HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\MicrosoftPlease let us know the result.
