Task Scheduler can't start: error 1075
After installing recent Windows 7 64-bit updates (or possibly a 3-d party soft - not sure), Task Scheduler no longer starts. When I try to start it in Services Snap-in, the Error 1075 pops-up: "The dependecy service does not exist or has being marked for deletion". Task Scheduler Properties says, it only depends on RPC service, and RPC with its dependencies are running OK. I looked at similar threads, and there is NO registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\RPC\INTERNET , so I can't delete it. Any ideas how to fix? How to verify Scheduler dependencies via Command Prompt similar to this approach? I uploaded the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Scheduler key and also RPC key, if it can help. Do they look normal, or anything is wrong / missing?

I found Task Scheduler thread that seems to help resolving the issue. Windows EventLog Service wasn't running, because its registry keys were messed up by an installed & uninstalled disk protection program and needed to be restored.
