TaskManager
i'm running XP Pro on a single computer at home. when trying to activate TaskManager, i've started getting the message "TaskManager disabled by administrator". of course, i have no administrator.how do i re-enable the TaskManager? any clues on how this got disabled?Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Its possible a virus attack Click Start Run gpedit.msc OK In the Group Policy settings window User Configuration Administrative Templates System Ctrl+Alt+Delete options Remove Task ManagerDouble-click the Remove Task Manager option

Your going to have to log in as your local admin. You may not have created one but every install of windows creates a local admin, usually called administrator with no password. You have to log out and log back in locally. Then you can edit the administrator privileges. If this got disabled for some reason and you dont know how, run a virus scan to make sure a virus isnt the cause of this.
