Thank you for the reply. Of course, you are right, a TUN/TAP interface is only a 'front-end' part of any network configuration. Personally, I met the situations, where the 'back-ends' were a SOCKS 5 server, some SSH and even DNS tunnel (the later in an intranet testing lab). A pair of TUN/TAP interface and SOCKS 5 server would be a nice network solution for the Windows OS as a further development of what that has been offered in 'netsh winhttp' command.
