TNE 32-bit disc turned back in - what now?
Hello, I just read the Official FAQ regarding the 32/64-bit Windows 7 disc fiasco atTNE events. The FAQ did not address my situation.I attended an event very recently where we had toRETURN our 32-bit version, and fill out a form to receive the 64-bit version. We were told that the64-bit version would arrive "sometime after December". Afterasking "does that mean January?" the MS rep stated, yes, that is what they told us.It seems as though most other people can get their mediawithin a coupleof weeks. Are those of us that turned theirs back in the same day going to have to wait for 2 monthsto receive our media?Thetear off "receipt" stub at the bottom of the 64-bit request form said to email the tne64 email address if we havent heard anything in a "month". That worried me...Thanks for any official answers that you may be able to provide. I am building a new computer over the holidays in December, and really need this media before then.Thanks.

Hi TravBeav, I know that you need to wait about a month to get the Windows 7 64-bit installation DVD from Microsoft. Since the product key for Windows 7 32-bit can also activate Windows 7 64-bit system, if it is possible, you can borrow a Windows 7 installation DVD from your friends or get it from other ways to install the new OS and then activate it with the key you current have. Before launching the installation, please runWindows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check if your computer is ready for Windows 7.
