TMG Does not work

Hi All,

Just a simple question, when user accessing Internet through TMG, and if the TMG does not work (e.g. downtime or death), it would affect Internet access, what would be the quickest workaround to allow user access the Internet?

Are there anything can be done in the client side (PCs)?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Please try to select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box to configure the browser not to forward requests for host names (for example, http://webserver) to the Web proxy filter.

You could check the article below.

Bypassing Forefront TMG for Web proxy client requests

Dear ,

You can configure Array TMG , so just in case you need to take down one server the other server will serve the users.

If your TMG is configured as front Firewall and DNS resolution is done on TMG server Level for internet connection , you cant do nothing for clients.

If your TMG is not configured as a front TMG and your DNS server allow external name resolution then users can disable TMG client on local machine and gain direct internet access with no firewall as a temporary solution.

PS: you can use group policies to push such changes to users.
