Go to Start > Settings > Network Connections. Right-click on your internet connection and pick Properties. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the list and click on Uninstall. Click on OK. You may be asked to reboot. If not, do so anyhow.Once you're back up, go to Properties again and click on Install. Pick Protocol, then click Add. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list and click on OK, and you're done.Unless you're in a company network environment, you can most likely get away with automatic settings, without having to put any IP addresses in.SC Tom

<Bigj822> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Ok so i followed the steps and i still have the problem. :(also my tcp/ip verstion is 6 would that need to be updated? You should have 2 listings with XP- one says "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and you may have "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6". The first is necessary, IP6 is not.SC Tom
