System slows down after opening windows explorer to view files and directories.
My system slows way down after opening windows explorer to view files and directories. When I select a directory it might take up to a minute before it displays what is in the directory. It does not matter how much or how little is in ther. If I am in like Paint Shop Pro and I go to open a picture I have no problem. I can search all through the drives and directories without any slowdown.Would appreciate any help. Thanks.2 people need an answerI do too

Whats happening here is that you computer is pulling data from you hard drive and putting it onto your RAM and when you files are scattered which Microsoft does. Your computer has to look for them. therefor slowing you computer down when opening explorer. One way to counter the large speeds is to defrag your computer. I use a great program that is free and does a much better job the most defragers out there. JkDefrag This should help you out. Good Luck! Please rate me up if you find my post helpful. Thank you!
