there are a number of processes that occur during shutdown. some of the few are: 1) the o.s. is writing to the registry, 2) the o.s. is trying to power down hardware 3) the o.s. is trying to clear out the pagefile. perhaps, there is some dysfuntional process occurring with the system. but on the other hand it could be normal for your particular system and configuration. what i suggest is that you regularly use the "hibernation" power setting instead of "shut down". and maybe once per week do/execute a complete shutdown. ~db db`...> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - @Hotmail.com "share the nirvana mann" - dbZen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > >

Hello, i think this virus problem so, first of all you scan your system from Anti-virus.& clean all malwares & some viruses. then clean temporary files & history . after that go to ms config & clear start up files. then automatically improve your system speed . & not issue of your system Hardware & OS also . it is good . regards, purushottamaherHardware & Networking Engg.of ESDS Software Solution Pvt.Ltd.Nashik.
