System restore has stopped working, as has delete, and others. If nothing can be changed we are kind of stuck. It won't delete because it can't find drive C, system restem restore can't start. I replaced vista. computer is HP Pavilion Media Center Help please.

jsb7,Put in the Windows 7 install disk, boot to it and choose 'Upgrade install' from the list. This will re-install Windows 7 while keeping all of your programs and settings intact.If you receive an error, you might have to choose 'repair' instead.

I was able to get to the right spot on the disk. (the first time I tried after your recommendation it failed) I discovered that there were upgrades that were installed that were not reported thru the control panel and I was able to restore to a date before the critical upgrade that caused the problem. This cured most of the problems, but I think performance has eroded so I will probably have to do it again. According to the control panel there were updates on June 10, but no others since May 25.
