System restore-System backup
Problem(s) 1. System restore point appears to work, but when I go in to restore to previous restore point it tells me "No restore points have been created". Above was done by Control Panel/System Protection/Create (with only 'C' drive having protection turned on [out of 3 other drives]). I have had PC for 13 months, custom made by Velocity Micro, Intel Core i5 CPU w/ 8 GB's memory, 2 Hatachi 500GB HD's as RAID 0 C Drive Configured, and 1 Hatachi 1 TB HD as my D drive, 2 external 1TB ea USB drives. I am running Win 7 Home Premium version 6.1 (Build 7600) 2. I suspect above problem is related to my inability to backup or create a Shadow copy with an error code of 0x81000019 "A SHADOW COPY COULD NOT BE CREATED - PLEASE CHECK VSS & SPP APPLICATION EVENT LOGS FOR MORE INFORMATION. DETAILS: INSUFFICIENT STORAGE AVAILABLE TO CREATE EITHER THE SHADOW COPY STORAGE FILE OR OTHER SHADOW COPY DATA" This PC has given me these 2 problems from the I started using it. Also . . . 3. After approx. 2-4 months of use I started getting - Unable to Read some sectors, try to backup right away(?) Errors on Boot up. I was unable to get a good backup as problem #2 kept happening. After a month of worry that my system would crash, and it didn't, I found that other than no Backup or System restore points, PC worked fine. Over the last 2 weeks I have had time to research these problems in more depth. After searching the WEB I finally found the following about a week ago . . "I installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager which IS compatible with my hardware (even though my hardware was very old - from 2004). Then follow these steps to resolve the issue: Launch the Intel Matrix Storage Console software that you now have from the installation and open up the tree view to examine my drives. In here the drives show the reported error as well. Right-click on each drive and select the popup menu option "Mark as Normal". Upon the next reboot the problem has gone away - and has not come back since" and so far so good. However. . . Problems 1 and 2 continue to vex me. . . Help!!

Have you tried creating a manula restore point? What happens? Right click My Computer and properties, select system protection and click on the Create button. Also, check the Configure tab to make sure it's not turned off. Lastly, run and SFC /SCANNOW to make sure your computer's integrity is good. Also, For thedisk errors, you may want to use the chkdsk /r command to repair bad tracks/sectors or a program like grc spinrite. MiguelMiguel Fra / Falcon IT Services Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase and Support Sharepoint Site
