After a normal shutdown, system re-boots itself after about 4 seconds. I have de-activated the buttons in control panel for re-start after power drop out etc, but this does not cure the problem. Can anyone help me here? Is this a problem with windows??? I have also looked at the webpage regarding this problem, but it does not solve the problem!!1 person needs an answerI do too

Mouneshwar Many thanks for replying.The only thing I did beffore the "self startup problem" was to change over the DDR2 RAM boards from my other computer to this one and vice-versa. I had 2Gb on one machine and 4Gb on the other. I just swapped them over, with power removed and static wrist bands used to prevent damage.I will try the above and see if I can correct the problem. The computer appears to shuit down successfully, but then 4 seconds after, re-boots automatically as if the switch was pressed. (switch OK)Steve Cade
